AgraQuest, Inc. Featured in August Issue of Wine Business Monthly
DAVIS, Calif. (September 11, 2007) AgraQuest, Inc., a leading provider of effective and safe pest management products, was featured in the August 2007 issue of Wine Business Monthly. The article, Natural, Microbial Biopesticides: AgraQuest Natural Biopesticides See Growth in Vineyard Use, Commercial Ag Market, focuses on a broad overview of AgraQuest and its biologically based products for the grape market and exemplifies the growing interest in sustainable agricultural practices among high-value crop growers and vineyard managers.
"A feature article of this size and scope, in a publication such as Wine Business Monthly, illustrates how far biopesticides have come in recent years," said Nevada Smith, Marketing Manager for AgraQuest. "Exposure of this magnitude validates not only the strength of our products, but AgraQuest's position within the market segment."
The 2500 word, Roger Lansing penned article features quotes from AgraQuest managers in sales, marketing, and research and development, as well as David Gates, Vice President of Vineyard Operations at Ridge Vineyards, a commercial vineyard looking to reduce its overall chemical footprint while maintaining effective control of diseases such as Botrytis, sour rot and Powdery Mildew.
In the article Gates is quoted as saying, "Sonata gives longer-term protection and resistance than traditional chemicals." He went on to tout the savings Ridge Vineyards sees from longer spray intervals thanks to Sonata. "For mildew control, Sonata always gives us at least 10 days, and usually 14 days of control, which is great because it allows us to extend the period between sprays."
The article also highlights the addition of former US Environmental Protection Agency administrator Bill Reilly to AgraQuest's Board of Directors, as well as a few of the innovative products in AgraQuest's pipeline.
