Walter Locher

Principle, Sustainable Asset Management

Mr. Walter Locher is currently a principle in Sustainable Asset Management's Private Equity fund (Zurich). Mr. Walter Locher was CEO of Anderson Clayton Corp. (1990-1997), a large cottonseed processor with 40 facilities in Arizona and California, employing 1200 people. Simultaneously, he was President of Volkart International, Inc., an international cotton trading house. Before that (1981-1990), he was CFO of Volkart Brothers Holding Ltd., a prominent trading house in the physical commodities business, involving trade finance, portfolio management and worldwide mergers and acquisitions (based in Switzerland). He was General Manager of the international distribution company of Eutectic-Castolin, a multi national manufacturer of industrial consumables (based in Panama and New York) and President of Volkart Japan, Ltd in Osaka. He has had other assignments in the international trading of commodities in USA, Central and Latin America. Mr. Locher was educated at the Commercial College in Switzerland, completed the Management Course IMD, Switzerland and the Senior Executive Program at Stanford. He is fluent in German, Spanish and English with knowledge of French, Italian and Japanese.
